The majority of the members understand and speak English and two members are fluent. In fact many of the members speak multiple languages: Korean, Japanese, Thai, English, Chinese, and Philipino. The group is related to BLACKPINK since they come from the same agency. They are similar to their big sister group where they don't have a leader but each member is responsible to take lead in certain areas. The reason they are called BABYMONSTER is because they are young and cute (BABY) but their talent is far beyond their years (MONSTER). Most of the members are still in their teens from 15 - 22. You can check out how they became a group by watching THE LAST EVALUATION which is more of their journey to becoming BABYMONSTER. Some people skip that since each of the episodes are around 18 - 20 mins long. You can watch their individual covers from THE LAST EVALUATION on their channel to get an idea of how talented these girls really are.
